CEREC
Traditionally, restoring and protecting a broken or heavily-restored tooth has required a significant investment in time and money. Our doctors and staff have wanted to change this, and thanks to the revolutionary CEREC system, we have. In the past, a patient with a broken tooth would come in for one appointment, got an injection of anesthesia, had his tooth prepared, an impression taken, and then received a temporary restoration. He then would have to return a few weeks later so we could remove the temporary crown and attach the permanent crown. With CEREC, our doctors can create a computer model of the repair and mill the necessary porcelain pieces in one visit, saving you time and money.
A CEREC tooth restoration doesn’t just offer a convenient repair; it represents a healthy, strong alternative to old-fashion crowns. CEREC mills strong, tooth-colored ceramic restorations to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function. These ceramic materials closely match the composition of your natural tooth structure, thus reducing post-op sensitivity. This is so because the repair and tooth expand and contract at an almost equal rate whenever there is a temperature change. Also, because we chemically bond the restoration to your existing tooth, we are able to salvage a good deal of healthy tooth tissue while reinforcing the structure.
With Cerec, chipped or discolored front teeth can be repaired with beautiful porcelain anterior crowns or veneers; back teeth can be restored to function and protected from breakage with porcelain inlay, onlay or crown. CEREC offers a lifetime warranty against breakage, too, so you can depend on your CEREC crown, onlay, inlay, or veneer.
